Believer's standing in grace through Mashiach
(Romans 5:1-2; Ephesians 1:3-14)
1:1 Paulos, kri'ah (called [to be]) a Shliach of Yehoshua (יהושע) Mashiach through the ratzon (will) of Elohim (אלהים), and Sosthenes [our] brother,
1:2 To: the Assembly of Elohim (אלהים) which is at Kórinthos, to them that are sanctified in Mashiach Yehoshua (יהושע), called [to be] set apart ones, with all that in every place call upon the Name of Yehoshua (יהושע) Mashiach Adoneinu, both theirs and ours:
1:3 Grace [be] to you, and shalom, from Elohim (אלהים) Avinu, and [from] Adonay Yehoshua (יהושע) Mashiach.
1:4 I thank my Elohim (אלהים) always on your behalf, for the grace of Elohim (אלהים) which is given you by Yehoshua (יהושע) Mashiach;
1:5 That in every thing you are enriched by him, in all utterance, and [in] all knowledge;
1:6 Even as the testimony of Mashiach was confirmed in you:
1:7 So that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of Adoneinu Yehoshua (יהושע) ha Mashiach:
1:8 Who shall also confirm you to the end, [that you may be] unreprovable in the day of Adoneinu Yehoshua (יהושע) Mashiach.
1:9 Elohim (אלהים) [is] faithful, by whom you were called to the fellowship of His Son Yehoshua (יהושע) Mashiach Adoneinu.
Division in the Assembly of Kórinthio 1:10- 4：21
1:10 Now I appeal you, achim, by the Name of Adoneinu Yehoshua (יהושע) Mashiach, that you all speak the same thing, and [that] there be no divisions among you; but [that] you be perfectly united together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
1:11 For it have been declared to me of you, my achim, by them [which are of the house] of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you says,
"I am of Paulos"; and
"I of Apollos"; and
"I of Kefa"; and
"I of Mashiach".
1:13 Is Mashiach divided? Was Paulos impaled for you? or were you immersed in the name of Paulos?
1:14 I thank Elohim (אלהים) that I immersed none of you, but Kríspos and Gáïos;
1:15 Lest any should say that I had immersed in mine own name.
1:16 And I immersed also the household of Stephanás: besides, I know not whether I immersed any other.
1:17 For Mashiach sent me not to immerse, but to proclaim the good news: not with wisdom of words, lest the stake of Mashiach should be made of none effect.
1:18 For the proclaiming of the stake is to them that perish foolishness; but to us which are saved it is the power of Elohim (אלהים).
1:19 For it is written:
I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1:20 Where [is] the wise?
Where [is] the sofer (scribe)?
Where [is] the disputer of this olam hazeh?
Have not Elohim (אלהים) made foolish the wisdom of this olam hazeh?
1:21 For after that in the wisdom of Elohim (אלהים) the olam hazeh by wisdom knew not Elohim (אלהים), it pleased Elohim (אלהים) by the foolishness of proclaiming to save them that believe.
1:22 For the Yehudim require a sign (otot), and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
1:23 But we proclaim Mashiach impaled, to the Yehudim a stumblingblock, and to the Greeks foolishness;
1:24 But to them which are called, both Yehudim and Greeks, Mashiach the power of Elohim (אלהים), and the wisdom of Elohim (אלהים).
1:25 Because the foolishness of Elohim (אלהים) is wiser than men; and the weakness of Elohim (אלהים) is stronger than men.
1:26 For you see your calling, achim, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, [are called]:
1:27 But Elohim (אלהים) have chosen the foolish things of the olam hazeh to confound the wise; and Elohim (אלהים) have chosen the weak things of the olam hazeh to confound the things which are mighty;
1:28 And base things of the olam hazeh, and things which are despised, have Elohim (אלהים) chosen, [yea], and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
1:29 That no flesh should glory in His presence.
1:30 But of him are you in Mashiach Yehoshua (יהושע), who of Elohim (אלהים) is made to us wisdom, and tzedakah, and set-apartness, and redemption:
1:31 That, according as it is written,
He that glories, let him glory in YEHOVAH (יהוה).

Geographic background of Korinthios
Kórinthos the capital of Achaia and a renowned and sinful idolatry city of Greece, It is located about 50 miles / 80 kilometers west of Athens, on the narrow isthmus that connects the southern section of Greece, known as the Peloponnesus, to the Greek mainland (Acts 18:1; Acts 19:1; 1 Korinthios 1:2; 2nd Korinthios 1:1, 2nd Korinthios 1:23; 2nd Timotheos 4:20). Kórinthos was an important cosmopolitan city located in the Roman province of Achaia. thens had two seaports, Cenchrea on the east, about nine miles distant, and Lechaeum on the west, only about two miles away.
The site of Ancient Kórinthos was first inhabited in the Neolithic period (5000-3000 B.C.). The peak period of the town, though, started in the 8th century B.C. and lasted until its destruction by the Roman general Mummius in 146 B.C. Representative of its wealth is the Doric temple of Apollo which was built in 550 B.C. The city was reinhabited in 44 B.C. and gradually developed again. In 51/52 A.D., Shaliach Paulos visited Kórinthos.

Sosthenes - meaniing safe in Strength Chief of tthe synagogue at Korinthos (Acts 18:17). Possibly identical with the co-worker (afterward) of Paulos mentioned in 1 Korintos 1:1. who was seized and beaten by the mob in the presence of Gallio, the Roman governor, when he refused to proceed against Paul at the instigation of the Yehudim (Acts 18:12-17). The motives of this assault against Sosthenes are not recorded, nor is it mentioned whether it was made by Greeks or Romans. Some identify him, but without sufficient grounds, with one whom Paulos calls “Sosthenes our brother,” a convert to the faith (1 Korintos 1:1).

"For even Mashiach our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth." 1 Korinthos 5:7-8

"For by one Spirit are we all immersed into one body, whether we be Yehudim or Goyim, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit." 1 Korinthios 12:13
