Lesson from the past 8:1-11:7
Trusting YHVH for Food8:1 Kol ha Mitzvot which I tzavah you this day shall you shomer to do, that you may live, and multiply, and go in and yaresh (possess) ha eretz which YEHOVAH (יהוה) sware to your avot.
8:2 And you shall zakar kol ha derek which YEHOVAH Eloheicha led you these arba'im shanah (forty years) in the midbar, to humble you, [and] to prove you, to know what [was] in l'vavcha, whether you wouldest Shomer his mitzvot, or no.
8:3 And he humbled you, and suffered you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you knewest not, neither did your avot know; that he might make you know that man does not live by lechem only, but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of YEHOVAH (יהוה) does man live.
8:4 Thy raiment waxed not old upon you, neither did your foot swell, these arba'im shanah (forty years).
8:5 You shall also consider in l'vavcha, that, as a man chasteneth his son, [so] YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha chasteneth you.
8:6 Therefore you shall Shomer mitzvot YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha, halak in His Derek, and to fear him.
8:7 For YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha bringeth you into a good eretz, a eretz brooks of mayim, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;
8:8 A eretz wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a eretz oil olive, and honey;
8:9 A eretz wherein you shall eat lechem without scarceness, you shall not lack any [thing] in it; a eretz whose stones [are] iron, and out of whose hills you mayest dig brass.
8:10 When you hast eaten and are full, then you shall bless YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha for the good eretz which he has given you.

A Warning About Forgetting to Obey YHVH in Times of Prosperity
Beware that you forget not YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha, in not keeping His mitzvot, and His mishpatim, and his chukkim, which I tzavah you this day:
8:12 Lest [when] you hast eaten and are full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt [therein];
8:13 And [when] your herds and your flocks multiply, and your kesef and your zahav is multiplied, and all that you hast is multiplied;
8:14 Then l'vavcha be lifted up, and you forget YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha, which brought you forth out of ha eretz Mitzrayim, from the bayit of bondage;
8:15 Who led you through that great and terrible midbar, [wherein were] fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where [there was] no mayim; who brought you forth mayim out of the rock of flint;
8:16 Who fed you in the midbar with manna, which your avot knew not, that he might humble you, and that he might prove you, to do you good at your latter end;
8:17 And you say in l'vavcha, My power and the might of [mine] hand has gotten me this wealth.
8:18 But you shall zakar YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha: for [it is] he that giveth you power to get wealth, that He may establish His Brit which He sware to your avot, as [it is] this day.
8:19 And it shall be, if you do at all forget YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheicha, and halak after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.
8:20 As the goyim (nations) which YEHOVAH (יהוה) destroyeth before your face, so shall you perish; because you would not be obedient to the voice of YEHOVAH (יהוה) Eloheinu.
