An explanation to love Hashem because of His powerful deeds

11:1 Therefore thou shalt ahav YHWH  Eloheicha, and shomer his mishmeret (charge), and His chukkot, and His mishpatim, and His mitzvot, alway.

11:2 And know ye this day: for [I speak] not with your banim which have not known, and which have not seen the musar (chastisement) of YHWH  Eloheichem, His greatness, His yad chazakah (mighty hand), and his stretched out arm,

11:3 And His otot (miracles), and His ma'asim (acts), which He did in the midst of Mitzrayim unto Paroh the melekh of Mitzrayim, and unto all his land;

11:4 And what He did unto the army of Mitzrayim, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the mayim of the Yam Suf to overflow them as they pursued after you, and [how] YHWH (יהוה) hath destroyed them unto this day;

11:5 And what He did unto you in the midbar, until ye came into this place;

11:6 And what He did unto Datan and Aviram, benai Eliav, ben Reuven: how the land opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and every living substance that regel (foot follow step) them, in the midst of all Yisrael:

11:7 But your eyes have seen all the great ma'asim (acts) of YHWH (יהוה) which he did.

Rewards for Obedience (8-32)

11:8 Therefore shall ye shomer all the mitzvot which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and yaresh (possess ירשׁ) the land, whither ye go to yaresh it;

11:9 And that ye may prolong [your] yamin in the land, which YHWH (יהוה) sware unto your avot to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.

11:10 For the land, into which thou are entering to yaresh (possess) it, [is] not as the land of Mitzrayim, from which thou came where thou used to sow thy seed and water it with thy foot like a vegetable garden.

11:11 But the land, whither ye go to yaresh (possess ירשׁ) it, [is] a land hills and valleys, [and] drinketh mayim of the rain of shamayim:

11:12 A land which YHWH  Eloheicha careth for: the eyes of YHWH  Eloheicha [are] always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

11:13 And it shall come to pass, if ye shall shema diligently unto my mitzvot which I command you this day, to love YHWH  Eloheichem, and to serve him with all your lev and with all your nefesh,

11:14 That I will give [you] the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.

11:15 And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.

11:16 Take heed to yourselves, that your lev be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

11:17 And [then] YHWH's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the shamayim, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and [lest] ye perish quickly from off the good land which YHWH (יהוה) giveth you.

11:18 Therefore shall ye lay up these My Devarim in your lev and in your nefesh, and bind them for a ot (sign) upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

11:19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

11:20 And thou shalt write them upon the mezuzot of thine bayit, and upon thy she'arim:

11:21 That your yamin may be multiplied, and the yamin of your banim, in the land which YHWH (יהוה) sware unto your avot to give them, as the yamin of shamayim upon the land.

11:22 For if ye shall diligently shomer all these mitzvot which I command you, to do them, to ahav YHWH  Eloheichem, to halak in all His derek, and to dabak (follow closely cleave) unto him;

11:23 Then will YHWH (יהוה) drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall yaresh (possess ירשׁ) greater nations and mightier than yourselves.

11:24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the midbar and Levanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.

11:25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: [for] YHWH  Eloheichem shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.

Parashah 47:

11:26 (i) The Blessing and the curse

Reeh Anokhi noten lifneikhem hayom berakha ukelalah:

Behold, I set before you this day the blessing and the curse:

11:27 A blessing, if ye shama (obey) the mitzvot of YHWH  Eloheichem, which I command you this day:

11:28 And a curse, if ye not shama (obey) the mitzvot of YHWH Eloheichem, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

11:29 And it shall come to pass, when YHWH  Eloheicha hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to yaresh (possess ירשׁ) it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon Mount Gerizim, and the curse upon Mount Eival.

11:30 [Are] they not on the other side Yarden, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land the Kenaanite, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?

11:31 For ye shall pass over Yarden to go in to yaresh the land which YHWH  Eloheichem giveth you, and ye shall yaresh it, and dwell therein.

11:32 And ye shall shomer to do all the chukkot and mishpatim which I set before you this day.
