Test of false prophets

献祭的规律

13:1 (13:2) If there arise among you a Navi, or a chalam (dreamer) of chalom (dreams), and giveth thee a ot (sign) or a mofet (wonder),

13:2 (13:3) And the ot or the mofet come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;

13:3 (13:4)Thou shalt not shema unto the devarim of that Navi, or that dreamer of dreams: for YHWH(יהוה)  Eloheichem proveth you, to know whether ye ahav YHWH (יהוה) Eloheichem with all your lev and with all your nefesh.

13:4 (13:5)Ye shall halak after YHWH (יהוה)  Eloheichem, and yare (fear) Him, and shomer His mitzvot, and shama (obey) His voice, and ye shall serve Him, and dabak (follow closely cleave) unto Him.

13:5 (13:6)And that Navi, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn [you] away from YHWH(יהוה)  Eloheichem, which brought you out of the eretz Mitzrayim, and redeemed you out of the bayit of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which YHWH (יהוה)  Eloheicha commanded thee to halak in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

13:6 (13:7)If achicha (thy brother), son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which [is] as thine own nefesh, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy avot;

13:7 (13:8)[Namely], of the gods of the people which [are] round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the [one] end of the earth even unto the [other] end of the earth;

13:8 (13:9)Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor shema unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:

13:9 (13:10)But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

13:10 (13:11)And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from YHWH (יהוה)  Eloheicha, which brought thee out of the eretz Mitzrayim, from the bayit of bondage.

13:11 (13:12)And all Yisrael shall Shema, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.

Idolatrous cities to be judged

禁行异民礼仪

13:12 (13:13) If thou shalt Shema [say] in one of thy cities, which YHWH (יהוה)  Eloheicha hath given thee to dwell there, saying,

13:13 (13:14)[Certain] men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;

13:14 (13:15) Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, [if it be] truth, [and] the thing certain, [that] such to'avat (abomination) is wrought among you;

13:15 (13:16)Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that [is] therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.

13:16 (13:17)And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for YHWH (יהוה)  Eloheicha: and it shall be an heap forever; it shall not be built again.

13:17 (13:18) And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that YHWH (יהוה) may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as He hath sworn unto thy avot;

13:18 (13:19)When thou shalt shema to the voice of YHWH (יהוה)  Eloheicha, to shomer all His mitzvot which I command thee this day, to do [that which is] right in the eyes of YHWH (יהוה)  Eloheicha.
