9:1
And passing by He saw a man blind from birth.
9:2
And His Talmidim asked Him, saying,
Rabbi, who sinned,
this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
9:3
Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) answered,
"Neither this
man nor his parents sinned, but so that the works of Elohim (אלהים) should be made manifest in
him.
9:4
I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.
9:5
As long as I am in Olam Hazeh, I am the light of haOlam.
9:6
Having said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay from the saliva; and He applied the clay on the eyes of the blind man.
9:7
And said to him, Go, rachatz
(wash) in the pool of Shiloach, (which is
by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and
rachatz
(washed), and came seeing.
9:8
Therefore the neighbours and those who previously saw him, that he was blind, were saying, "Is not this he who sat and begged?"
9:9
Some said,
"This is he". others said,
"He is like him":
He kept saying, "ANI
HU
I am he.
9:10
Therefore they said to him, "How were your eyes opened?"
9:11
He answered and said, "A man called Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) made clay,
and anointed my eyes, and said to me, 'Go to the pool of
Shiloach, and rachatz
(wash)' When
had gone and , and I received sight."
9:12
Then they said to him, "Where is He?" He said, "I do not know."
9:13
They brought him who was once blind to the Prushim.
9:14
Now it was Shabbat when Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) made the clay, and
opened his eyes.
9:15
Then again the Prushim were asking him how he received his sight. And he said
to them,"He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see."
9:16
Therefore some of the Prushim were saying, "This Man is not of
Elohim (אלהים), because He keeps does not keep the Shabbat. Others said, "How
can a sinful man do such signs? And there was a
division among them.
9:17
They say to the blind man again,
"What do
say about Him because He opened your eyes?" He said "He is Navi"
9:18
But the Yehudim did not believe concerning him, that he was blind and received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight.
9:19
And they asked them, saying, "Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?"
9:20
His parents answered them and said, We know that this is
our son, and that he was born blind:
9:21
but how he now sees we do not know, or who opened his eyes we do not know. He is of age; ask him. He will speak for himself."
9:22
His parents said these things because they feared the Yehudim, for the Yehudim had
agreed already that if anyone confessed that He was Mashiach, he would be put
out of the shul.
9:23
Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
9:24
Then again called the man who was blind, and said to him"Give Elohim (אלהים) the glory!"
We know that this Man is a sinner."
9:25
He answered and said, "Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One
thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see."
9:26
Then they said to him again, "What did He do to you? How did He open your
eyes?"
9:27
He answered them, "I told you already, and you did not listen. Why do
you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His taught ones?"
9:28
Then they reviled him and said, "You are a talmid of that man, but we
are talmidim of Mosheh Rabbenu.
9:29
We know that Elohim (אלהים) has spoken to Mosheh; but as for this Man, we do not know where He is from."
9:30
The man answered and said to them, "Why, this is a remarkable thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He opened my eyes!
9:31
Now we know that Elohim (אלהים) hears not sinners: but if any man be
a worshipper of Elohim (אלהים), and does his will, him he hears.
9:32
Since the beginning of time (Brit'at
haOlam) it
has never been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind.
9:33
If this Man were not of Elohim (אלהים), He could do nothing."
9:34
They answered and said to him,
"You
were completely born in sins, and do you teach us?" And they cast him out.
9:35
Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) heard that they had cast him out; and having
found him, He said to him, "Do you believe on BEN
Elohim (אלהים)?
9:36
He answered and said,
"Who is he, Adoni
(אדני), that I may
believe in Him?
9:37
And Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) said to him,
"You have both seen Him, and it is
He who is speaking with you."
9:38
And the man said,
"Ani
ma'amin Adoni
(אדני)!"
And he fell down prostrate before Him.
9:39
And Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) said,
"For
the sake of Judgment, I came into this Olam Hazeh, that who do not see
may see and those who see might become blind."
9:40
And some of the Prushim who
were with Him heard these
words, and said to Him, "Are we blind also?"
9:41
Yeshua (יֵשׁוּע) said to them,
"If you were blind, you should have no
sin: but now you say, We see; therefore your sin remains."
