14:1(iv) And it came to pass in the days of Amrafel king of Shinar, Aryokh king of Elasar, kedorla Omer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goyim;
14:2 [That these] made war with Bera king of Sedom, and with Birsha king of Amora, Shin'av king of Admah, and Shem'ever king of Tzeboyim, and the king of Bela, which is Tzo'ar.
14:3 All these were joined together in the Valley of Siddim, which is the salt sea.
14:4 Twelve years they served kedorla Omer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
14:5 And in the fourteenth year came kedorla Omer, and the kings that [were] with him, and smote the Repha'im in Ashterot Karnayim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh Kiria-tayim,
14:6 And the Horites in their mount Seir, to El-paran, which [is] by the wilderness.
14:7 And they returned, and came to Ein-mishpat, which [is] Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hatzatzon-Tamar.
14:8 And there went out the king of Sedom, and the king of Amorah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Tzeboyim, and the king of Bela (the same [is] Tzo'ar;) and they joined battle with them in the Valley of Siddim;
14:9 With kedorla Omer the king of Elam, and with Tid'al king of Goyim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Aryokh king of Elasar; four kings with five.
14:10 And the Valley of Siddim [was full of] tar pits; and the kings of Sedom and Amorah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.
14:11 And they took all the goods of Sedom and Amorah, and all their food supplies (Okhel), and went their way.
Lot taken to captivity
14:12 And they took Lot, Avram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sedom, and his goods, and departed.
14:13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Avram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshkol, and brother of Aner: and these [were] confederate with Avram.
14:14 And when Avram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained [servants], born in his own beit, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued [them] to Dan.
14:15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them to Hobah, which [is] on the left hand of Dammesek (דּמּשׂק).
14:16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
14:17 And the king of Sedom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of kedorla Omer, and of the kings that [were] with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which [is] the king's dale.
14:18 And Malki Tzedek (מלכּי־צדק) Melek Shalem (שׁלם) brought forth lechem (לחם) and Yayin (יין wine): and he [was] the kohen (כּהן) of the Elyon (עליון most high) Elohim (אלהים).
14:19 And he baruch him, and said, baruch [be] Avram of the Elyon (עליון most high) Elohim (אלהים), possessor of shamayim and earth:
14:20 And blessed be the Elyon (עליון most high) Elohim (אלהים), which has delivered your enemies into your hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
14:21(v) And the king of Sedom said to Avram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.
14:22 And Avram said to the king of Sedom:
" I have lift up mine hand to YHWH (יהוה), the Elyon (עליון most high) Elohim (אלהים), the possessor of shamayim(heaven) and eretz (earth),"
14:23 That I will not [take] from a thread even to a shoe-latchet, and that I will not take any thing that [is] your, lest you should say, I have made Avram rich:
14:24 Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshkol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.
