Lot's third step in backsliding; a great man in Sedom

19:1(iii) And there came two Messengers to Sedom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sedom: and Lot seeing [them] rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

19:2 And he said:

"Behold now, my masters, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and you shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.

19:3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in to him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake Matzah (unleavened bread), and they did eat.

19:4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, [even] the men of Sedom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:

19:5 And they called to Lot, and said to him, Where [are] the men which came in to you this night? bring them out to us, that we may know them.

19:6 And Lot went out at the door to them, and shut the door after him,

19:7 And said, I pray you, achai, do not so wickedly.

19:8 Hinei now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out to you, and do you to them as [is] good in your eyes: only to these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.

19:9 And they said,

"Stand back". And they said [again], This one [fellow] came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with you, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, [even] Lot, and came near to break the door.

19:10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.

19:11 And they smote the men that [were] at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

19:12 And the men said to Lot,

have you here any besides? son in law, and your sons, and your daughters, and whatsoever you have in the city, bring [them] out of this place:

19:13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of YHWH (יהוה); and YHWH (יהוה) has sent us to destroy it.

19:14 And Lot went out, and spoke to his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for YHWH (יהוה) will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked to his sons in law.

Destruction of Sedom

19:15 And when the morning arose, then the Messengers haveened Lot, saying, Arise, take your wife, and your two daughters, which are here; lest you be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

19:16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; YHWH (יהוה) being merciful to him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.

19:17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for your life; look not behind you, neither stay you in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest you be consumed.

19:18 And Lot said to them:

Oh, not so, my masters:

19:19 Hinei now, your eved has found grace in your sight, and you have magnified your mercy, which you have shewed to me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:

19:20 Hinei now, this city [is] near to flee to, and it [is] a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, ([is] it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.

19:21(iv) And he said to him:

"See, I have accepted you concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which you have spoken.

19:22 havee you, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till you be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Tzo'ar.

19:23 The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Tzo'ar.

19:24 Then YHWH (יהוה) rained upon Sedom and upon Amorah brimstone and fire from YHWH (יהוה) out of heaven;

19:25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

19:26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

19:27 And Avraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before

YHWH (יהוה):

19:28 And he looked toward Sedom and Amorah, and toward all eretz the plain, and beheld, and, behold, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.

19:29 And it came to pass, when Elohim (אלהים) destroyed the cities of the plain, that Elohim (אלהים) remembered Avraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelled.

Lot's final step in backsliding

(Beresheet 13:10,12; 19:1; Luke 22:31-62)

19:30 And Lot went up out of Tzo'ar, and dwelled in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Tzo'ar: and he dwelled in a cave, he and his two daughters.

19:31 And the bachor said to the younger:

"Our father [is] old, and [there is] not a man in the earth to come in to us after the manner of all the earth:

19:32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve zera (descendants) of our father.

19:33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the bachor went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

19:34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the bachor said to the younger; Hinei, I lay last night with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go you in, [and] lie with him, that we may preserve zera (descendants) of our father.

19:35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

19:36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.

19:37 And the bachor bare a son, and called his name Mo'av: the same [is] the father of the Mo'avites to this day.

19:38 And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Ben-Ammi: the same [is] the father of the children of Ammon to this day.

19:24 Tagum

And the Word of Adonay had caused showers of favour to descend upon Sedom and Amorah, to the intent that they might work repentance, but they did it not: so that they said, Wickedness is not manifest before Adonay. Behold, then, there are now sent down upon them sulphur and fire from before the Word of Adonay from Heaven. And the Word of Adonay Himself had made to descend upon the people of Sedom and Amorah showers of favour, that they might work repentance from their wicked works. But when they saw the showers of favour, they said, So, our wicked works are not manifest before Him. He turned (then), and caused to descend upon them bitumen and fire from before Adonay from the heavens. And He overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and the herbage of the earth.

It seem to be after deliverance Man commited sexual sin through wine

9:21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

19:32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve zera of our father.

Sodom (Hebrew: סְדוֹם, Standard Sədom Tiberian Səḏôm, Greek Σόδομα) and Gomorrah (Hebrew: עֲמוֹרָה, Standard ʿAmora Tiberian Ġəmôrāh / Ămôrāh, Greek Γόμορρα) were two cities destroyed by God. For the sins of their inhabitants Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim were destroyed by "brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven" (Genesis 19:24-25). Since then, their names are synonymous with impenitent sin, and their fall with a proverbial manifestation of God's wrath (Jude 1:7).

Moav - Moab - bawm Barasheet 19:37 And the firstborn bare a son, and called his name Moav: the same is the father of the Moavites to this day.

Moab = "of his father" a son of Lot by his eldest daughter; the nation descended from the son of Lot ; the land inhabited by the descendants of the son of Lot
