Avraham's Faith confirm - Tenth Trial

(Hebrews 11:17-19)

Vayhi achar hadevarim ha'eleh veha'Elohim nisah et-'Avraham vayomer elav Avraham vayomer hineni.

And it came to pass after these things, that Elohim (אלהים) did tempt Avraham (אברהם), and said to him, Avraham (אברהם): and he said, hinei, Hineni (here I am).

Vayomer kach-na et-bincha et-yechidecha asher-'ahavta et-yitzchak velech-lecha el-'eretz haMoriyah veha'alehu sham le'olah al achad heharim asher omar eleicha.

And he said: "Take now your son, your only son Yitzchak (יצחק), whom you love, and get you into the eretz Moriah; and offer him there for a Olah (burnt offering) upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of.

22:3 ו

Vayashkem Avraham baboker vayachavosh et-chamoro vayikach et-shenei ne'arav ito ve'et Yitzchak beno vayvaka atzei Olah vayakom vayelech el-hamakom asher-'amar-lo ha'Elohim.

And Avraham (אברהם) rose up early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Yitz'chak (יצחק) his son, and clave the wood for the Olah (burnt offering), and rose up, and went to the place of which Elohim (אלהים) had told him.

Bayom hashelishi vayisa Avraham et-'einav vayar et-hamakom merachok.

Then on the third day Avraham (אברהם) lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

22:5 And Avraham (אברהם) said to his young men:

"Abide you here with the donkey; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you."

22:6 And Avraham (אברהם) took the wood of the Olah (burnt offering), and laid [it] upon Yitz'chak (יצחק) his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

Vayomer Yitzchak (יצחק) el-Avraham (אברהם) Aviv vayomer: Avi vayomer Hineni, Beni (here am I, my son),

Vayomer: Hinei, ha eish(fire)  ve hatzim (wood) ve ayeh ha Seh(lamb) leOlah(burnt offering)?

Vayomer Avraham (אברהם):

My son, Elohim will provide (yireh) Himself the lamb for a burnt offering."will provide Himself a lamb for a Olah (burnt offering)"so they went both of them together.

22:9 And they came to the place which Elohim (אלהים) had told him of; and Avraham (אברהם) built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Yitz'chak (יצחק) his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

Vayishlach Avraham et-yado vayikach et-hama'achelet lishchot et-beno.

And Avraham stretched forth his hand, and took the slaughtering-knife to slay his son.

22:11 And the messenger of YHWH (יהוה) called to him out of shamayim, and said, Avraham (אברהם), Avraham (אברהם): and he said, Hineni (here I am).

22:12 And he said:

"Lay not your hand upon the lad, neither do you any thing to him: for now I know that you feared Elohim (אלהים), seeing you have not withheld your son, your only [ben] from me."

Vayisa Avraham et-'einav vayar vehineh-'ayil achar ne'echaz basevach bekarnav vayelech Avraham vayikach et-ha'ayil vaya'alehu le'olah tachat beno.

And Avraham (אברהם) lifted up his eyes, and looked, and hinei behind [him] a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Avraham (אברהם) went and took the ram, and offered him up for a Olah (burnt offering) in the stead of his son.

22:14 And Avraham (אברהם) called the name of that place YHWH Yireh (יהוה יראה): as it is said [to] this day, In the Mount of YHWH (יהוה) it shall be seen.

22:15 And the messenger of YHWH (יהוה) called to Avraham (אברהם) out of shamayim the second time,

22:16 And said, By myself have I sworn, said YHWH (יהוה), for because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only [ben]:

22:17 That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your zera (descendants) as the stars of the shamayim, and as the sand which [is] upon the sea shore; and your SEED  shall possess the gate of His enemies;

22:18 And in your SEED shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed My Voice.

22:19 So Avraham (אברהם) returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Be'er Sheva (בּאר שׁב); and Avraham (אברהם) dwelled at Be'er Sheva (בּאר שׁב).

The family of Nachor

22:20 (Maftir)

And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Avraham (אברהם), saying, hinei, Milkah, she has also born children to your brother Nachor;

22:21 Utz his first-born, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the av of Aram,

22:22 And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Yidlaf, and Beituel.

22:23 And Beituel begat Rivkah: these eight Milkah did bear to Nachor, Avraham (אברהם)'s brother.

22:24 And his pilegesh (concubine), whose name [was] Re'umah, she bare also Tevach, and Gacham, and Tachash, and Ma'akhah.

The overview on the Ten Trials of Avraham - Rambam view

There are two sets of view on the ten trials of Avraham. Rashi first two trial is not stated in the scripture, I presume it is from the the Book Yashar: However I prefer to accept Ramban  because it is all listed in scripture.

1. Avraham hid underground for thirteen years from king Nimrod, who wanted to killed him.

2. Nimrod flung Avraham into a burning furnace

3-10 are found in scripture.

Rambam

  1. Avraham's exile from his family and homeland.
  2. The hunger in Kenaan after Hashem had assured him that he would become a great nation there.
  3. The corruption in Mitzrayim that resulted in the abduction of Sarah
  4. The war with the four kings.
  5. His marriage to Hagar after having despaired that Sarah would ever give birth.
  6. The commandment of circumcision at his such old age.
  7. Avimelekh's abduction of Sarah.
  8. Driving away Hagar after she had given birth.
  9. The very distastedful command to drive away Yishmael.
  10. The binding of Yitzchak on the altar.
