25:1 (vi) Then again Avraham took a wife, and her name [was] Keturah (קטוּרה).
25:2 And she bare him Zimran, and Yokshan, and Medan, and Midyan, and Yishbak, and Shuach.
25:3 And Yokshan begat Sheva, and Dedan. And ben Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
25:4 And ben Midyan; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Avida, and Elda'ah. All these [were] the children of Keturah (קטוּרה).
25:5 And Avraham gave all that he had to Yitzchak (יצחק).
25:6 But to bnei ha pilageshim (sons of the concubines), which Avraham had, Avraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Yitzchak (יצחק) his son, while he yet lived, eastward, eretz kedem (east).
25:7 And these [are] the days of the years of Avraham's life which he lived, one hundred and seventy-five years.
25:8 Then Avraham breathed his last, and died in a good old age, zaken (an old man), and full [of years]; and was gathered to his people.
25:9 And his sons Yitzchak (יצחק) and Yishma'el (ישׁמעאל) buried him in the cave of Makhpelah, in the field of Ephron en Tzohar the Hittite, which [is] before Mamre;
25:10 The field which Avraham purchased of ben Het: there was Avraham buried, and Sarah (שׂרה) his wife.
25:11 And it came to pass after the death of Avraham, that Elohim (אלהים) blessed his son Yitzchak (יצחק); and Yitzchak (יצחק) dwelled by the well Be'er-Lachai-Roi.
25:12 (vii) Ve eleh toldot (generations) Yishma'el (ישׁמעאל) Ben Avraham, whom Hagar the Mitzrites, Sarah's handmaid, bare to Avraham:
25:13 And these [are] shemot benai Yishma'el (ישׁמעאל), by their names, according to their toldot (generations): bachor (firstborn) Yishma'el (ישׁמעאל), Nevayot; and Kedar, and Adveel, and Mivsam,
25:14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
25:15 Chadad, and Tema, Yetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:
25:16 (Maftir)
These [are] benai Yishma'el (ישׁמעאל), and these [are] their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their goyim (nations).
25:17 And these [are] the years of the life of Yishma'el (ישׁמעאל), an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he breathed his last and died; and was gathered to his people.
25:18 And they dwelled from Havilah to Shur, that [is] before Mitzrayim, as you goest toward Assyria: [and] he died in the presence of all his brethren.
Ve eleh toldot (generations) Yitzchak (יצחק) Ben Avraham: Avraham holid et-Yitzchak (יצחק):
25:20 And Yitzchak (יצחק) was forty years old when he took Rivkah (רבקה) to wife, Bat Betu'el (בּתוּאל) the Aramean of Padan Aram, the sister to Lavan the Aramean.
25:21 And Yitzchak (יצחק) intreated YHWH (יהוה) for his wife, because she [was] barren: and YHWH (יהוה) was intreated of him, and Rivkah (רבקה) his wife conceived.
25:22 And the banim struggled together within her; and she said, If [it be] so, why [am] I thus? And she went to inquire of YHWH (יהוה).
25:23 And YHWH (יהוה) said to her, Two goyim (nations) [are] in your womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from your bowels; and [the one] people shall be stronger than [the other] people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
25:24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, Hinei, [there were] twins in her womb.
25:25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esav.
25:26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esav's heel; and his name was called Ya'akov (יעקב): and Yitzchak (יצחק) [was] threescore years old when she bare them.
25:27 And the boys grew: and Esav was a skillful (yada) hunter, a man of the field; and Ya'akov (יעקב) [was] a plain man, dwelling in tents.
25:28 And Yitzchak (יצחק) ahav Esav, because he did eat of [his] venison: but Rivkah (רבקה) ahav Ya'akov (יעקב).
25:29 And Ya'akov (יעקב) cooked stew (lentil):
and Esav came from the field, and he [was] faint:
25:30 And Esav said to Ya'akov (יעקב):
"Feed me, I pray you, with that same red [stew]; for I [am] faint: therefore was his name called Edom (אדם).
25:31 And Ya'akov (יעקב) said:
"Sell me this day your bekorah (birthright בּכורה). "
25:32 And Esav said:
Behold, I [am] at the point to die: and what profit shall this bekorah do to me?
25:33 And Ya'akov (יעקב) said:
"Swear to me this day; and he sware to him: and he sold his bekorah to Ya'akov (יעקב)."
25:34 Then Ya'akov (יעקב) gave Esav bread and stew of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esav despised [his] bekorah.
