35:1 And Elohim (אלהים) said to Ya'akov:
Arise, go up to Beit-El, and dwell there: and make there an altar to EL, that appeared to you when you fleddest from the face of Esav your brother.
35:2 Then Ya'akov said to his household, and to all that [were] with him, Put away the strange gods that [are] among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
35:3 And let us arise, and go up to Beit-El; and I will make there an altar to EL, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.
35:4 And they gave to Ya'akov all the strange gods which [were] in their hand, and [all their] earrings which [were] in their ears; and Ya'akov hid them under the oak which [was] by Shekhem.
35:5 And they journeyed: and the terror of Elohim (אלהים) was upon the cities that [were] round about them, and they did not pursue after benai Ya'akov.
35:6 So Ya'akov came to Luz, which [is] in eretz Kenaan, that [is], Beit-El, he and all the people that [were] with him.
35:7 And he built there an altar, and called the place El-Beit-El: because there Elohim (אלהים) appeared to him, when he fled from the face of achicha.
35:8 But Devorah meineket Rivkah died, and she was buried beneath Beit-El under an oak: and the name of it was called Alon-Bakut (oak of weeping).
35:9 And Elohim (אלהים) appeared to Ya'akov again, when he came out of Padan-Aram, and blessed him.
35:10 And Elohim (אלהים) said to him, Your name [is] Ya'akov: your name shall not be called any more Ya'akov, but Yisrael shall be your name: and he called his name Yisrael.
35:11 And Elohim (אלהים) said to him, Ani EL Shaddai (שׁדּי): be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of you, and kings shall come out of your loins;
35:12 And the eretz which I gave Avraham and Yitzchak, to you I will give it, and to your zera after you will I give the eretz.
35:13 And Elohim (אלהים) went up from him in the place where he talked with him.
35:14 And Ya'akov set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, [even] a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.
35:15 And Ya'akov called the name of the place where Elohim (אלהים) spoke with him, Beit-El.
35:16 And they journeyed from Beit-El; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.
35:17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said to her, Fear not; you shall have this son also.
35:18 And it came to pass, as her nefesh was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his avi called him Benyamin (בּנימין).
35:19 And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which [is] Beit Lechem.
35:20 And Ya'akov set a pillar upon her grave: that [is] the pillar of Rachel's grave to this day.
35:21 And Yisrael journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.
35:22 And it came to pass, when Yisrael dwelt in that eretz, that Reuven went and lay with Bilhah his father's pilegesh (concubine): and Yisrael heard [it]. Now benai Ya'akov were twelve:
35:23 benai Le'ah; Reuven, Ya'akov's bachor, and Shimon, and Levy, and Yehudah, and Yissakar, and Zevulun:
35:24 benai Rachel; Yosef (יוסף), and Benyamin (בּנימין):
35:25 And benai Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:
35:26 And benai Zilpah, Le'ah's handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these [are] benai Ya'akov, which were born to him in Padan Aram.
35:27 And Ya'akov came to Yitzchak his avi to Mamre, to the city of Arbah, which [is] Hevron, where Avraham and Yitzchak sojourned.
35:28 Now the days of Yitzchak were one hundred and eighty years.
35:29 And Yitzchak breathed his last and died, and and was gathered to his people, aged and satisfied of days. And his banim Esav and Ya'akov buried him.
