The Harvest offerings : offering First Fruits

Parashah 50: Ki Tavo (When you come) 26:1-29:8(9)

26:1(i) And it shall be, when you are come in to the eretz which ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha gives you [for] an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwell in it;

26:2 That you shall take of the first of all the fruit of the eretz, which you shall bring of your eretz that ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha gives you, and shall put [it] in a basket, and shall go to the place which ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha shall choose to place His name there.

26:3 And you shall go to the Kohen that shall be in those days, and say to him, I profess this day to ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha, that I am come to the country which ADONAI (יהוה) sware to our avot for to give us.

26:4 And the Kohen shall take the basket out of your hand, and set it down before the altar of ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha.

26:5 And you shall speak and say before ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha, A Syrian ready to perish [was] my father, and he went down into Mitzrayim, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous:

26:6 And the Mitzrites evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage:

26:7 And when we cried to ADONAI (יהוה) Elohim (אלהים) of our avot, ADONAI (יהוה) heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labour, and our oppression:

26:8 And ADONAI (יהוה) brought us forth out of Mitzrayim with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders:

26:9 And he has brought us into this place, and has given us this eretz, [even] a eretz that flows with milk and honey.

26:10 And now, behold, I have brought the old harvest of the eretz, which you, O ADONAI (יהוה), have given me. And you shall set it before ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha, and worship before ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha:

26:11 And you shall rejoice in every good [thing] which ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha has given to you, and to your bayit, you, and the Levi'im, and the stranger that [is] among you.

26:12(ii)

When you have made an end of tithing all the tithes of your increase the third year, [which is] the year of tithing, and have given [it] to the Levi'im, the stranger, the orphan, and the widow, that they may eat within your she'arim (gates), and be filled;

26:13 Then you shall say before ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha, I have brought away the hallowed things out of [mine] bayit, and also have given them to the Levi'im, and to the stranger, to the orphan, and to the widow, according to all your mitzvot which you have tzavah me: I have not transgressed your mitzvot, neither have I forgotten [them]:

26:14 I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken away [ought] thereof for [any] tamei [use], nor given [ought] thereof for the dead: [but] I have obeyed to the voice of ADONAI (יהוה) my Elohim (אלהים), [and] have done according to all that you have tzavah (commanded) me.

26:15 Look down from your kadosh habitation, from shamayim, and bless your people Yisra'el, and the eretz which you have given us, as you sware to our avot, a eretz that flows with milk and honey.

26:16(iii)

This day ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha has tzavah (commanded) you to do these chukot and mishpatim: you shall therefore keep and do them with all your heart, and with all your soul.

26:17 You have avouched ADONAI (יהוה) this day to be Eloheicha, and to walk in His ways, and to keep His chukot, and His mitzvot, and His mishpatim, and to obey to His voice:

26:18 And ADONAI (יהוה) has avouched you this day to be His peculiar people, as he has promised you, and that you should keep all His mitzvot;

26:19 And to make you high above all nations which he has made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that you may be an kadosh people to ADONAI (יהוה) Eloheicha, as he has spoken.
